being an ungrateful bastard, i'm feeling a bit whiny about not having email or rss notifications for posts on threads. What's the reason this forum software was chosen, CK? ummm ... I have a feeling this question is answered elsewhere. Too goddam lazy to look. Is it cos you don't need to pay for a site to put the forum on? (can't resist perusing alternative forum software www.forummatrix.org/) |

mijj: This venue was chosen after an exhaustive review of all possibilities available at any price uh, I mean, because it was the first free one I stumbled on. You've got to start somewhere. venomrock: I don't think there is an equivalent of the DISQUS mentions here, so the @username won't do a thing. It would be a great feature, though. I tried using a mention on OwenEvan at a newspaper he did a DISQUS post at, but I don't know if it actually worked. (The admin kept moderating whatever I posted, so I guess he didn't like me using their blog as a soapbox.  ) When he shows up, it will be interesting to find out if it worked. |
