Well as some might remember I am the author of the Guess the Word 6 riddle way back when. It was because I found Marina interesting and genuine and well wanted to tease her I wrote it and sent it to her. It took her a few days but eventually she replied correctly and asked me if I minded if she used it as a teaser for her students

I was flattered and of course thrilled too. Needless to say it was quite popular and so a few months later I wrote another one for Marina but received no response. Of course she was well into her meteoric rise up the glitter ladder but it was still a little disappointing that she had no time to solve this riddle as it would have made a very very interesting lesson indeed.

So I sent a message to Marina on facebook last week giving her another chance to solve it but no reply so.. here it is for all of you to plug at. Don't bother searching google this is original work and so no quick routes, but I have faith that the guys here Leonard CK etc have the wherewithall to solve it without help.

So I posted it to Imgur if you feel to share it with others but I will attach it to this post as well.

Needless to say I don't want one word answers I want your reasoning behind your answers. Extra karma too if you can get every clue. There are many

Wow! I can't match up to all the clues. There are several references to horses (clip clop, Hussar, bow [horse hair]), but colors? This will require more thinking.

Take your time there is no rush but it will be a learning process I can promise you that

No.. well I can promise you if you are struggling it is only because you are unaware of the multiplicity of the word and its uses. It why I thought it would be a perfect word for Marina to do a very good lesson on how a word can be used in some many contexts and yet still have a root in different places. It goes to the heart of what etymology is all about. Which is why I feel quite sad Marina appears not to have taken any interest in it. Perhaps she just it not into words any more, after all it is all HotforNutrition now isn't it?

Kinda makes me wonder if it is not like Cat Stevens/ Yusuf Islam in so much as it took him night on 30 years to realise his passion and talent lay in making music for himself and others but somewhere along the way he got distracted by other 'stuff'.

Well I bear no ill will, just a sort of despondency that for years I have been waiting for Marina to have a go and show me once again how smart she is but fear she just does not have the time inclination or freedom to do so.
